"Outlander" Season 6: All You Need to Know About Jamie & Claire's Return

The story continues! The explosive finale to season 5 of Outlander brought fans of Starz television series more trouble when the Revolutionary War heats.

"Outlander" Season 6: All You Need to Know About Jamie & Claire's Return

Viewers saw Claire ( Caitriona balfe) sexually assaulted by men after she published confidential medical advice under another man's name during the season 5 finale. Despite Jamie Fraser ( Sam Heughan) coming to her aid, there are still many obstacles for the couple in season 6.

After the renewal of Starz, CEO Chris Albrecht stated that fans can rest assured that Jamie and Claire will face new challenges and adversaries in season six.

Heughan confirmed the storylines would continue to get darker at the Outlander panel at New York Comic Con, October 2021.

He said that Claire and Jamie had spent a lot time building Fraser's Ridge and this was the season when they saw it fall apart. Jamie saved Claire. But I believe she isn't over the trauma and Jamie is aware of it. He's watching Claire closely and I believe these cracks are starting to show, not just for Jamie but also for all the residents of Fraser's Ridge. "The war is on."

The Spy Who Dumped me star teased new characters as well as how they would contribute to the overall plot.

"We have the Christies family that arrives at the Ridge. They are initially integrated into the new community but soon we see that a lot more of the history between Tom and Jamie really gets under the skins of everyone," the Saturn Award winner said. It starts to disintegrate or decay the Fraser's Ridge home that Claire and Jamie built.

Heughan admitted previously that season 6 was not without its own complications due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It's been difficult. It was strange to be able to shoot through a Scottish winter in the middle of a pandemic. We would go to work, especially at the beginning, and we didn’t know what was going on," the bloodshot actor explained on the "Just the Facts” podcast in June 2021. "I had just completed a movie in London that followed similar protocols. It was crazy to be in Scotland, to not see anyone driving to work and to feel like the only ones at work was it.

After filming was completed, the actor from Scotland stated that he was "really happy with this season".

He said that it felt almost like an early western vibe at the time. "We are building towards the War of Independence. There's also time travel and all the other elements. It's like a tiny, but powerful season.

The adventure will continue with an extended episode starting Sunday, March 6, 2022.

The Future

Gabaldon spoke out about the future of Outlander at a launch for the ninth series book, Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone in November 2021.

It depends on Jamie or Claire. "If they aren't ready to die, I guess that I will have to continue," explained the author, referring back to discussions regarding a cap of 10 novels for the book series.

New Trailer

"Sometimes, I think you're an Angel." This is my holiday gift to #Outlander fans. Enjoy this clip from Season 6.

Jamie and Claire had a sweet, intimate moment together in the footage. Heughan's character commented that his love is always there with him.

A Look at the Future

In January 2022, a two-minute trailer was released for the new season. Claire and Jamie face threats from all sides. Jamie tells Claire, "I can't be two things at the same Claire; a rebellious, loyalist, an agent of the crown, and an enemy of king," to which she replies, "You don't have to live your life afraid of who you are."

A hostile force comes to town and changes everything

Heughan said Men's Health that Jamie's past is back to haunt him. He was also an intimate prisoner with Jamie years back, and now he lives on Fraser's Ridge together with his family. They really signal the decline of Fraser's power."

"That Frasers are now wealthy," said the actor. The town has grown. Jamie and Claire almost look like chiefs. Although they are very capable landowners, it is clear that people's loyalty and support for Frasers starts to wane with the arrival this new family. This signals the beginnings of change at Fraser's Ridge.

Smooth sailing for Brianna & Roger

Skelton stated that he could see why peaceful times in Outlander are too good to be true in Hello! magazine, March 2022. "But with Roger and Bree, and all they've gone through, this season is the most peaceful we'll see them in." Skelton told Hello! magazine, March 2022. They are the stability in the middle of chaos. They are the stability in the season, which is nice and unique!"
