Dancing with the Stars: Cheating Suspicions Mount

The finale of Dancing with the Stars 2024 this Friday will take place in an atmosphere of suspicion never before seen in the TF1 program.

The current season of Dancing with the Stars (DALS) has been setting the floors on fire since its launch at the beginning of the year, but not only that. While the final has been scheduled for this Friday evening on TF1, the show is collapsing under the weight of multiple accusations relating to the fairness of the competition. Voices are being raised to denounce preferential treatment granted to certain celebrities, notably Inès Reg, at the center of all the controversies but also the main curiosity of the program since March.

Rumors about Dancing with the Stars, growing behind the scenes and on social media, were brought to light on April 18 by Black M in Le Parisien. The rapper, freshly eliminated, expressed his doubts about the sincerity of the voting process. Dancing with the Stars is in fact based on a clever mix of votes from the jurors (Fauve Hautot, Mel Charlot, Jean-Marc Généreux and Chris Marques) and the public. A system which raises questions according to him.

"Isn't there something wrong when they stop the votes? I wonder. I asked them straight in the eye: Guys, is this a bit rigged? Tell the truth... And they told me replied: no, not at all. I don't believe them but I don't want to make it a state affair... But I keep my question mark. In the world of TV, they. control things that we don't see. If I were the producer of a show like Dancing with the Stars, if I wanted to put so-and-so in the final, I would do what I wanted. they do what they want,” whispered Black M daily.

A few sentences bordering on conspiracy which added additional controversy to this season of DALS, already undermined by the altercation between Inès Reg and Natasha St-Pier behind the scenes. The media obviously took up the matter and have since made suspicions grow a little more. An anonymous person, described as an entertainment specialist, clarified in the columns of the same newspaper a few days later that the producers could actually stop the votes "whenever it suits them", a practice which would be common in programs requiring viewer intervention.

Other internal sources indicate that everything would be orchestrated to maximize the presence of Inès Reg, who has become a catalyst for Dancing with the Stars 2024. "We give her contemporaries [contemporary dances - Editor's note] less complicated to do than dances show and the super marks fall to avoid the public vote It's a bit: we have to save soldier Inès", confides a person close to the production. Another critical voice adds: “With contemporaries, you just need to slide barefoot across the floor and wave your arms to get a good grade.”

From the beginning of April, the elimination of Adeline Toniutti, just before the launch of her tour, raised questions from fans. And the former Star Academy coach had to respond to the rumors of rigging, insisting on her commitment and her determination to go “to the final” if she could. But other Dancing with the Stars participants did not hesitate to express their opinions and even their frustration more clearly at the time of being eliminated. During prime-time on April 12, Keiona and her partner Maxime Dereymez particularly protested about the jury's scores which they considered unfair after a dance. “I don’t feel judged in the same way as my competitors,” Keiona even dared during the show’s afterparty, clearly disappointed by a 7 which, according to her, did not reflect the quality of her performance.

The matter became more complex with the surprising elimination of Keiona the following week, released by viewers even though she had come first in the general ranking. This exacerbated doubts about the integrity of the public vote. Despite her disappointment, the star chose to calm things down. "I had a lot of fun. I had a great teacher, a great friend, a great partner who didn't let me go during the whole competition. We made the most of it. , we danced well, we had fun, we created beautiful paintings and I am very proud to have done that with Maxime, because it was really incredible,” she simply declared.
