The minister of higher Education Frédérique Vidal announced on Tuesday the opening of 10,000 additional places from September in the sectors most in demand of higher education, to cope with the influx of high school students this year after a record rate of success in the tray.

"To help them (the graduates), we decided to finance 10 000 additional places for the autumn, in line with the requests of these students, many in short-term training courses, health and social or long-term," explained Frédérique Vidal in an interview with the Parisien.

She cited the "example 2000 more spots in the training of nursing care (...)". "These places are in addition to the 3000 that we will, as we have already announced, for training in BTS", she continued.

"The demands for training paramedical have been multiplied by two or three on Parcoursup. These trades have made a lot of sense these past few months and the excitement of high school graduates to orient themselves towards them is a reflection of the ability of our youth to want to be helpful," stressed the minister.
