Henry Cavill wants to be the comic book Superman

He has portrayed the role of the legendary superhero in three films, but he wants to keep it on the screen.

Collider was told by Henry: "I would love the chance to play the Superman we all love from the comics. It's a continuation of his growth and we see him as the hero. It would be really, really thrilling for me because I have the opportunity to tell many interesting stories there.

It's all about the hooks. Superman is a good, idealistic character. There are many wonderful opportunities to explore what it's like for Superman and the hardships that go with that. How hard can it be to save everyone when you have to? This could be a fascinating line to follow."

Henry said that he enjoyed the role in his films, but he wants to explore the character more.

The Witcher star stated that "Man of Steel" was a great opening story and an origin story for Superman. It gave him plenty of room to develop beyond that story and become the hero we know.

"Batman v Superman" took a difficult turn and was a Batman perspective story. It didn't show the Superman aspects that I wanted to see. "Justice League Snyder Cut" definitely leaned into that more.

Henry recently expressed his desire to reprise the role of Clark Kent and feels that he has more stories to tell about the superhero than the lack of follow up to the 2013 film "Man of Steel".

He stated that he would love to have the chance to tell stories as Superman.
