It's the time when cats lose their hair, here's how to escape it

Is your cat losing its hair and you don't know how to do it? Here are some unstoppable solutions.

Our four-legged companions are a source of joy and cuddles, but can also be a real pain in the maintenance of your house or apartment. Especially in spring, a period during which, like in autumn, your cat molts and therefore... loses its hair more than usual. A natural and necessary phenomenon for their health and well-being, but which can be burdensome for its owner and tiring for its vacuum cleaner.

Cat hair follows a growth cycle, which consists of three main phases: the growing phase (anagen), the resting phase (catagen), and the shedding phase (telogen). In spring, longer days and increased sunlight stimulate cats' hair follicles, causing many hairs to transition from the resting phase to the shedding phase.

Spring shedding also helps cats adapt to the warmer temperatures of summer. By shedding their thicker, denser winter coats, they can better regulate their body temperature and stay cool during the warmer months. A real headache for its owner, it is however possible to stem the phenomenon of hair loss and not find yourself overwhelmed with a few simple tips to implement on a daily basis.

There are a whole host of methods to save your home from the inconvenience caused by a cat, with varying results and effectiveness. One of the magnets for cat hair is... static electricity! Also, you can use your old spun tights to capture hairs, by putting them on your hand or on the head of your broom.

It is also possible, still using the same type of method, to use an inflated balloon, to pass, like tights, over your fabrics, clothes, furniture and other sheets or carpets. Unlike these strategies, it is important to wash regularly sheets, cushion covers and other fabrics that may trap cat hair, using softener to minimize static electricity and therefore reduce hair adhesion to tissues.

In spring as in autumn, cat hair can be very annoying in our interiors. So in addition to static electricity, there are other methods to get rid of it. One of them makes sense: brushing your cat regularly will help reduce the amount of hair she sheds around the house. Choose a brush suited to your cat's hair type and brush it gently several times a week. To prevent hair loss, you can also pass a damp washcloth or rubber glove over the coat, this way you will catch most of the hairs ready to fall out.

To get rid of animal hair on you, your furniture or your fabrics, you can finally use a hair roller. For the rest of the house, the essential thing is obviously the vacuum cleaner: choose one that is powerful and equipped with accessories designed specifically for animal hair. And to prevent your four-legged friend from getting his hair everywhere, set up dedicated rest areas for him, equipped with blankets or easy-to-wash fabrics. Encourage your cat to use these areas by making them comfortable.
