Taylor Swift, Mylène Farmer, Voyou... The musical releases of the week

It's Friday, time for the week's new music playlist!

When spring is slow to appear, temperatures remain low and the weather capricious, we can always count on musical releases! And this Friday, in this new week of April, several new releases can be noted on streaming listening platforms and the bins of our music stores. It's hard to miss the phenomenon Taylor Swift, who unveils her highly anticipated new project, a double album called The Tortured Poets Department.

Also note this Friday, April 19, the new EP from the singer Voyou, but also the album of remixes by Mylène Farmer. Plug in the speakers, turn up the volume, here is the playlist of this week's releases:

Superstar Taylor Swift is releasing her highly (much?) anticipated new album this Friday, called The Tortured Poets Department and which has... 31 tracks. A nice surprise for Swifties - Taylor Swift fans, who discovered at midnight that this record was in fact a double album. "I've been writing so much torture poetry over the past two years and I wanted to share it all with you, so here's the second installment of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. 15 more songs," the singer wrote on social media.

Singer Mylène Farmer is releasing Remix XL this Friday, her cover album: a total of 21 revisited songs, some of which have benefited from a re-recording of her voice. Among the artists to have taken part in the remix game, the cream of the French electro scene, from Arnaud Rebotini to Feder via The Avener, Cut Killer or The Magician, and up to the director David Lynch. Mylène Farmer will be in concert at the Stade de France on September 27, 28 and October 1, 2024 – three full dates.

After its sold-out Olympia last January, Voyou continues its momentum and unveils a new EP called Seul and comprising six tracks, including its duet with Vanessa Paradis on Le Bal and another, previously unreleased, with the singer Pi Ja Ma and entitled The nipples. We also discover Seul, the eponymous title, which the artist had already tested in concert, and rightly so.

The Americans from Cigarettes After Sex continue to announce their upcoming album with a new single called Dark Vacay. A piece in the captivating and haunting pop continuity that makes the group successful, for a new taste of X's, announced in stores on July 12. Cigarettes After Sex will be in concert at the Accor Arena in Paris on November 16 and at the Hall Tony Garnier in Lyon on November 17.

We end with the rock release of the week, Pearl Jam's twelfth studio album: Dark Matter. Composed of eleven tracks, the album had already been announced by three singles: Running, Dark Matter the eponymous song and Wreckage. Formed in 1990, the group led by Eddie Vedder offered for this project the services of the famous American producer Andrew Watt who has worked with artists like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, The Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne and Iggy Pop .
