The comedian recalled their first meeting at the "very pretentious" party years later and said that he knew instantly that the actress was the one for him.

"I knew immediately. I don't know if it was. It took her around 20 years to find out," Cohen said to The New York Times October 2020.

Two years after sparking romance rumors, the couple got engaged, but Fisher admitted that she preferred to keep her relationship with Cohen as under the radar as possible.

"I don't really feel comfortable talking about my private lives and Sacha and me are probably very similar in that our feelings are hidden behind humor," Confessions Of A Shopaholic actress, shared with The Daily Mail in August 2008.

Fisher made the decision to convert from Judaism to honor her then-fiancee as they were getting ready for their nuptials.

Sacha said, "I will certainly have a Jewish marriage just to be with her." She explained that she would do anything to marry Sacha, and to move into any religion.

Fisher believed that the most important part of the event was having their loved ones there.

"It was very important to me that I had a beautiful ritual with my family and close friends. It is very difficult to keep it private when you are in public view. She admitted this to Allure on January 2009.

The couple had their first child, Olivia, in 2007 before they got married.

The couple married in March 2011 and welcomed Elula, their second child, a few months later. The Now You See Me actor and Borat actor remained focused on ensuring their growing family enjoyed the privacy they desired.

"Motherhood is my favorite topic, but I don't talk about it publically." "As much as I love what my job is, and I am so lucky to have had the opportunities that I have, my responsibility to my family is to my parents," Fisher stated to Us Weekly about how to adjust to being a parent.
