Since the beginning of June, testimonies flock to the social networks with the hashtag #IwasCorsica, declination island #Iwas born in the United States on the 1st of June.

After the rallies in Bastia and Ajaccio, a hundred people gathered Sunday in front of the sub-prefecture of Calvi to denounce sexual violence. Close to "130 people were in attendance, in a serene atmosphere", said the sub-prefect Florent Farge.

representatives Of the movement have been received at the prefecture, but also to the public prosecutor of Bastia. "Two representatives were received within my floor," said the prosecutor. "The 15 and 16 July, the two young women that we have received have revealed the facts they say they have suffered in minutes and have filed a complaint. Two criminal investigations have been opened immediately", she added.

In a press release, leaders of the movement #Iwascorsica have however regretted a message "ambiguous, complex, murky, contradictory, not easily accessible" to the prosecutor. These leaders intend to still pursue the legal action, stated in a press release : "We have decided to retain THE thing which we think is of primary importance : the possibility that we have to apply directly to the attorney by email and will continue (...) to transmit to him the evidence that we will collect".
