After news about the lawsuit was made public, Erika, 50 broke down several times. The Pretty Mess author was more than happy to explain the situation in her own words, even though her co-stars were discussing the news separately.

She said, "My divorce is not a sham."Kyle RichardsShe let out a torrent of tears. It's just not. It's not something anyone wants to be in. It's not something I would want to do. It is not cool to be the target of a federal criminal investigation. It's not cool to be told all the things you don't believe about yourself and then have everyone question everything. It's lonely, it's quiet, and you'd be surprised at how quickly people turn against you. It's amazing how quickly people can distance themselves from you. They turn automatically because they don’t want to be involved. They were there when it was great, however."

Kyle, 52, assured Erika that she was always there as a friend after her emotional declaration. Erika was supported by other Housewives.

"Maybe Tom did those things, but Erika didn't know about them,"Garcelle BeauvaisIn a confessional. "One thing that I know is that husbands can keep secrets that wives don’t know about is..."

Lisa RinnaThe Broadway star said, "We're here to help Erika." We know you. This is not what you would do.

Filming was in progress in December 2020 when news broke that Erika (82) and Tom (82), were the subject of a class-action lawsuit alleging that they had embezzled settlement funds for families who lost their loved ones in 2018's plane crash.

Us Weekly reported that Erika filed for divorce from Tom one month before. This led to some believing that the couple had faked the separation to protect their assets. The legal problems between the couple are ongoing.

"When I filed for divorce, I was a gold miner. This week, I'm a conspirator. What the f---k? Neither of them is true," said the "Painkillr' singer during Wednesday's episode.
