Busy Philipps Teases Working With BFF Michelle Williams Again:'Perhaps We Can Get' Her Husband Thomas Kail'to Direct Something'

"It has been tricky [amid the pandemic]," Philipps, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly whilst boosting her partnership with Credit Karma Money. We were shooting Girls5eva, also since the last thing that you need to do is be the person that ends up shutting down a production and putting 200 people from a job. Thus, you know, it has been a bit tricky because while we are sort of so much nearer in some way, we have not been able to enjoy really cuddle and spend too much time as we'd love."

Regardless of the social distancing limitations, Philipps and Williams, 40, have been able to return on event. "Our families quarantined after which ended up spending some time over the vacation break together. And that was just like really, really wonderful," she added. "And that I am quite thrilled to be close to her today."

The actresses first met while starring as Jen Lindley (Williams) and Audrey Liddell (Philipps) on Dawson's Creek, that ran from 1998 to 2003. (Philipps joined the cast in year 5.)

"It fell into place because my husband [Marc Silverstein] was directing it," Philipps said before making a reference Williams' husband, Thomas Kail. "I guess now that Michelle -- that Tommy's a manager too, maybe we can convince him to lead something for both of us."

Celebrity BFFs

Philipps and Silverstein are parents of Birdie, 12, and Cricket, 7. Williams along with the Hamilton manager Kail, 43, meanwhile, welcomed a kid collectively last year. The Greatest Showman actress is also mom of girl Matilda, 15, whom she had with the late Heath Ledger.

Over time, Philipps and Williams have attended several awards shows collectively, using their priceless responses to the Moonlight and La La Land Greatest Picture mix-up making headlines during the 2017 Oscars.

"Oh my God, which has been the most enjoyable . Which we missed because we needed to pee," Phillips recalled to Us. "I love getting ready together with my buddy. I think that the best part of all that stuff is just the time that we get to spend together. And it's very special to be able to be there with your pals and observe the high points of their careers as well as what they have worked so hard for. You know what I mean? When it's an awards show or your friend got a promotion and you just take her out for drinks or you throw her a dinner party for her 30th birthday. Like these things are like that to me, you know, that's the very best. That is the best thing. You're there for your buddies through the difficult times, but it is super fun to be with your friends to celebrate the fun times also."

Despite skipping this year's awards season, the Freaks and Geeks alum was keeping busy in other ways. She recently teamed with Credit Karma Money and its own program, which over 110-plus million individuals already trust with their finances.

"I made a lot of financial, not errors, but just like I think I just didn't have the knowledge and I was actually intimidated by it. I think that that's something which a lot of people can relate to. No matter what you do for work to make money, I feel a good deal people feel just a little bit intimidated how to handle our money and how to invest and what to say then how to conserve," she clarified. "And I really do love that Credit Karma isn't just making it so much easier for people, but also, actually needing to instruct and help people get better in managing their money and conserving their money. And so they've launched Credit Karma Money, which can be rooted in that idea of helping everyone be considerate about the best way to save and how you spend your cash. And I do think that's something that like when I first started out, I could have certainly used."

She continued:"I just think that, you know, we will need to have these conversations about money. I believe that it's historically been sort of a taboo topic. Folks do not want to discuss how much you create, save, the way you spend, but the reality is, if we are not having these discussions, you then don't learn. You do not know how to get it done. And particularly if we're talking about like pay equality. We have to be communicative with one another so we can be sure there's parity in the workplace"
