The 29-year old actor posted the following message via his Instagram Story on Thursday March 10. "This is a tiring process and we have an exciting story to share."
John B, a Maryland native said that he wants viewers get the full experience "when the time is right" and not after the next season arrives on Netflix.
Stokes said, "I know that you are all anxious and excited, but it will be worth it," he added.
The Tell Me Your Secrets alumni said that it was "disheartening to see spoilers leaked while the cast is filming new episodes.
Stokes said, "[I] am also bummed people don't have to just wait and that instead, posting on social media [has became] more important than respecting [our process]," Stokes added.
Netflix's star said he didn't mind viewers coming up to him and his co-stars when they were out and about, but asked them to "give us a little bit more respect at work and for those who don't want the show until it's out fully."
Stokes concluded, "The entire OBX family would greatly value you guys if they would help us with that." Thank you for understanding <3."
Season 1 of Outer Banks was premiered in April 2020. The second season was released in July 2021. Fans have been able to watch John B (Stokes), his friends JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope, Jonathan Daviss, Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Sarah (Madelyn Clline) as they search for hidden treasure in South Carolina.
22-year-old Daviss confirmed in February that the cast was back together, and were filming season 3 . Two photos from the upcoming season were released by Netflix via Instagram in the same month.
Fans of Outer Banks were excited to see the cast photos. Stokes and Cline, both 24, were seen holding hands and looking very couple.
Although it was obvious that they were showing PDA in character, some fans hoped that the actors -- who dated more than one year before their November 2020 split -- would be back together in real-life.
