Billie Eilish announces a new album, what we know

The 22-year-old singer announces the release of a new album in May, three years after "Happier Than Ever."

Three years after Happier than ever, her latest album released three years ago, Billie Eilish announces her return to the stores, with a new project. On her social networks, via two publications and a short video, the 22-year-old singer, recently received a standing ovation at the Oscars, the Golden Globes and the Grammy Awards, revealed that a new album, which would be titled HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, would be released on May 17.

“It’s completely crazy writing these lines, I’m nervous and excited,” she wrote to her 120 million followers on Instagram, talking about a record that “she couldn’t be more proud of” and sharing its cover. We discover Billie Eilish at the bottom of the water, appearing to fall from an open door. On the website of its official store, it is also indicated that the records and vinyls will be made from 100% recycled waste, in an eco-responsible approach.

“I’m not going to give you singles, I want to give you everything at once,” she adds. This new disc, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, will therefore be the artist's third, produced with Finneas O'Connell, her brother with whom she has worked since her beginnings. Together, they have won multiple awards, notably at the Oscars in March for their song from the film Barbie, What Was I Made For. The duo had already won the Oscar for original song in 2022 for No Time to Die, the soundtrack to the James Bond film of the same name.
