The party song-parody of "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)" (1987) from the album "Licensed to Ill" (1986), the New York-based Hip-Hop Band Beastie Boys (1981-2012) was the mid-1990s, in the list of "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll" (Dt. "500 Songs that shaped Rock and Roll") the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And also the Single, "No Sleep till Brooklyn" (1987) from the same Album will be launched today.

The musicians themselves call, "Hello Nasty" (1998) as their "best Album". Specifically, they make up in the new "Beastie Boys book" (Heyne Hardcore, Euro 40), the extensive autobiography, which is published today, Monday. Was written, the 572-page work of guitarist Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (52) and Drummer Michael "Mike D" Diamond (53). Already in the introduction, the authors make it clear that it is the language to be authentic, although "shit", etc., in English, of course, a little easier from the lips.

in addition to a lot of interesting facts from the long history of the influential cult Band the book contains countless photos. Even some cooking recipes to be found in the Band book, however, with sea urchin eggs or chicken stomach. And then there's a small, fine Chips-philosophy: "A single potato chip can change the whole of life."

The ribbon girl

In a Chapter of Kate clip Bach (52). She was from 1981 to 1984, drummer and the only female member in the band's history. Her Chapter is called "The Girl in The Band or you and your inflatable Penis can have me time". She describes, especially as they flew in from the Band: "In August 1984, I was eighteen years old and still a Beastie Boy [...]", starts the described scene in a New York music club, where she was informed that Rick Rubin (55), founder of the music label Def Jam Recordings, wanted to make "Mike, Adam and Adam, Mariobet the first successful Rap Band" - without women.

"I was as offended [...] they were like brothers. And it also had never played a role that I was a girl - until Rick Rubin appeared on the scene...," recalls Schellenberg. The four musicians had, despite the separation, however, the new, from the manufacturer offered in the attitude of the men did not like you: "which made The wide-legged Rapper hanging out, made sexist jokes and behaved like a dumb-ass".

As the Album "Licensed to Ill" came out, they had been nonetheless proud of the three, "but at the same time hurt and jealous, because they had without me, success".

reflection, despite the Macho attitude

However, despite all the Punk, Anarcho and Macho attitude, the two musicians to her band live in the "Beastie Boys book describe" and is well reflected.

"In Los Angeles there is a well-networked infrastructure, which is designed to separate a as soon as possible of his money: You don't find any problems, any people, can get a Vintage guitar (of course for free) you need, the houses and cars for sale or rent, you can't afford, or the extravagant care for the dog does not offer it at all," for example, in the Chapter "to read more Expensive Shit".

"What would Yauch?"

The book ends with an "Outro" by Michael Diamond and a imaginary, perfectly wild and romantic image of Mastermind Adam "MCA" Yauch (1964-2012), as he "rises in some mountains in the asshole of the world" with a "monstrous bass" on the back alone, on a snowy summit. "Both physically and metaphorically, a large number," writes Diamond. "Stupid and funny and great, and certainly something that would be what discourage mother, travel agent, accountant and Manager urgently."

But there is a catch very well the spirit of many adventures, in which Yauch you have. Therefore, he question still today, sometimes, if a crazy opportunity: "What would Yauch?" After his much too early death of cancer in 2012, the Beastie Boys broke up.
