The passage of the Nelson depression to the south of England will not be without consequences for some of the French. The wind will indeed blow strongly across a good part of the Atlantic coast. In its latest bulletin, Météo-France clearly announces the color and speaks of a “stormy episode requiring particular vigilance”. On the agenda: violent gusts of wind are expected. Météo-France has placed six departments on orange alert for wind. Are concerned: Côtes-d'Armor, Finistère, Loire-Atlantique, Vendée, Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime. Orange vigilance extends from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., a good part of the day this Thursday, March 28, 2024.

For these six departments on alert, "the expected values ​​are of the order of 120 to 130 km/h near the coasts and 100 km/h, or occasionally 110 km/h inland, under squalls "stormy in particular", details it in its Météo-France bulletin. The French meteorology and climatology service also specifies that the most powerful gusts will occur especially at midday. Calm is expected at the end of the day, in the afternoon or evening.
