Montpellier: the woman kidnapped and saved by a distress note also suspected of violence

A woman who was assaulted and kidnapped by her partner was rescued by the police after launching a call for help on Tuesday April 23 in Montpellier. After the couple's hearing, the case turns out to be more complex.

A cry for help launched like a bottle in the sea, but heard. A woman violated and kidnapped in her home by her partner was rescued on Tuesday, April 23, in Montpellier. In the evening, around 9 p.m., a couple of passers-by were walking along rue Montcalm and came across a small note containing a cry for help, a first name and an address. At first doubtful and thinking that it might be a bad joke, the couple decided to look for a night shift all the same.

At the address indicated, the brigade did not report any noise but in turn decided to contact the national police. In the apartment, the police discovered that "a woman, a victim of physical violence at the hands of her partner, was being held captive", as indicated by the Montpellier municipal police on her X account. The police also found the violent spouse aged 30 and question him. For her part, the woman with marks on her face was able to be taken care of by emergency services and brought to safety.

Once his police custody ended, the spouse was the subject of a summons before the prosecutor's delegate for acts of violence without total incapacity for work. But he wasn't the only one. The kidnapped woman, aged 32, was also interviewed and was summoned for the same facts.

The police do not question the violence suffered by the victim, but investigators have noted minor reciprocal violence according to information from Midi Libre. According to investigators, the couple love each other, but are plagued by excessive jealousy. The prosecution therefore decided to summon the two individuals who will be heard by the courts to understand what was happening within the couple.
