PSG will play three friendlies against J-League sides in July in Japan, the French club's first tour of the country in 27 years, with hopes of further courting their growing fan base in Asia. The 2021-2022 French champion will start by facing the Kawasaki Frontale on July 20, four times winner of the J-League over the last five seasons.

After this meeting in the new Olympic stadium in Tokyo, epicenter of the Summer Olympics last year, PSG will play on July 23 against the Urawa Reds in Saitama (north of Tokyo) then on July 25 against Gamba Osaka in the city. of the same name, in western Japan.

PSG will also organize training sessions open to the public in Tokyo and Osaka, so that its players can "interact with the fans and discover Japanese culture", he announced Thursday during a press conference of his representatives in the Japanese capital.

"It's a very special moment for the club to announce this summer tour in Japan, just after the announcement of the renewal of Kylian Mbappé's contract (...), I think it shows the ambition of the club", said Sébastien Wasels, head of PSG's Asia-Pacific office.

Paris SG must restart its season with the Champions Trophy against Nantes, winner of the Coupe de France, a meeting scheduled for July 31 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The resumption of Ligue 1 is scheduled for the following weekend, August 6-7.
