Challenge Cup: the Vélodrome stadium will not be full for the Toulon-Lyon final

The Challenge Cup final, this Friday evening (9 p.m.) in Marseille between the RCT and the LOU, will not be sold out. 48,000 tickets were sold while the capacity of the Stade Vélodrome is 65,000 seats. According to Var-matin, the quota of 4,000 places allocated to Toulon supporters has however been completely sold. The president of LOU, Yann Roubert, told Rugbyrama that around 5,000 Lyon supporters will make the trip.

It's very nice to see that it's taking hold, that it's getting people talking in Lyon, and that there's this possibility of becoming the first men's team in Lyon sport to win a European title. It would be a great first. There will be quite a few buses and so much the better if it gets jammed on the A7 between Lyon and Marseille, that will mean that there are Lyonnais coming. We will be between 4,000 and 5,000 Lyonnais. We suspect that there will be a few more Toulonnais … But it's great to see the Lyonnais mobilize, savors Yann Roubert.
