Tensions between China and the United Kingdom about the fate of the Uyghurs

China rejects accusations of the United Kingdom of infringements of Human rights in the Xinjiang region, calling them "slander".

China has accused on Monday, the head of british diplomacy to spread "slander" after his remarks, denouncing the "grave violations" of Human rights against the muslim minority uyghur in Xinjiang (north-west).

"It is clear that there are serious violations, offensive to the rights of Man" in this region, said on Sunday the head of british diplomacy Dominic Raab on BBC television. "It is deeply, deeply shocking". "We want a serious relationship [with China], but we can't see such a behavior and not to denounce them," he added.

"These remarks are purely and simply lies and slander", responded Monday during a press conference Wang Wenbin, a spokesman of the chinese ministry of foreign Affairs. "The issue of Xinjiang is not a question of Human rights, religion or ethnic group. It is a question of struggle against violence, terrorism and separatism",-he stressed.

The Xinjiang region, which has approximately 25 million inhabitants has long been hit by deadly attacks, is assigned by Beijing to be separatist or islamist. It is the subject for a few years to a steady recovery in hand. More than a million muslims, especially Uighurs, are, or have been interned in camps in Xinjiang, say Washington and international organizations for the defence of Human rights. China denies this figure and says that it is the vocational training centres, intended to help people to find a job in order to keep her away from the temptation of extremism.

A German researcher, Adrian Zenz, also argues in a recent study published by an american organization that the Uyghur are subject to forced sterilizations. Wang Wenbin has rejected the accusations of forced sterilizations, arguing that the uyghur population had more than doubled in the space of 40 years.
