Bayan has soon birthday: As a child, I celebrated like

Bayan Alrazzah is 21 and comes from Aleppo in Syria. Two years ago, he fled to Germany alone. Since then, he lives in Munich, his application for asylum was recognised in the request. For the Münchner Merkur, he keeps a diary about his daily life here. Today he reported about how in Syria, birthdays are celebrated – and as he celebrates in Bavaria.

Next week I have birthday. 15. January. As a child, everyone is happy, of course, on his birthday. But when you grow up, the more happy you look so much – because you get older and life is getting more difficult. This has already been said, my teacher used to always. This year I am looking forward to my birthday, because I'm losing my hair.

I think that we should all celebrate what you can do

In Syria, were celebrated the birthdays in my family until we were ten years old. The reason I have never understood. When we asked our parents, they said that we are too big for it. Others say that it celebrates in Islam birthdays. The girls have celebrated with us always like birthdays. Even if you were older than 20 years.

As a child, I celebrated with my family on my birthdays. I've invited a few friends – they were my neighbors, because I was able to except for school, never be alone on the road. Often, I celebrated my older brother's birthday. My mother had to leave our passports with the same birth date so that we could go in the same class. For my birthday my mother bought a cake. On it my Name and "happy birthday". I also get toys as a gift. Some friends have celebrated their birthdays in a Restaurant. But to my parents it was too expensive.

am Since I was in Germany, I've celebrated more birthday. Every year, my mother and my brother to write me a message – you live in Turkey. Only a few of my friends know when my birthday is. Perhaps I of them get paid something. I wish myself a good Start in the new year. I think that it is good to celebrate everything that one creates. For example, a new job or a good life. If I have children, I will organize for you always celebrate a birthday.
