Fans are used to having to wait before discovering a new season of their favorite series. But for Stranger Things, the wait before being able to devour the end of the Netflix series is likely to be particularly long.
Stranger Things fans have been particularly patient in the past. After having waited a year between the first and second season (2016 and 2017), we had to wait two years before discovering season 3. The wait between the third (2019) and fourth season (2022) was colossal, since the fans this time waited three years to discover the continuation of the adventures of the inhabitants of Hawkins, due, in part, to the health crisis linked to the coronavirus.
Will Stranger Things Season 5 go even further? It is particularly awaited by fans since it will be the definitive conclusion of the series. Originally, the epilogue of the saga was expected for the current of the year 2024 according to the estimates of comedian David Harbour, who played Jim Hopper. This already made fans wait for about two years. But due to the strike that is rocking Hollywood, the wait could be much longer.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer announced on May 6 that production on Season 5 was on hold. Screenwriters in the sector collectively demanded a salary increase and expressed their concern about the use of artificial intelligence in their profession. Since then, the production, and therefore the writing of the script and the filming of the series, has not resumed.
So when will we be able to discover the sequel? No release date for Stranger Things 5 has been announced yet, but it seems very complicated to imagine a release for 2024, especially since the strike in Hollywood seems set to drag on, now that the union actors joined the movement.
