In her autobiography Libre, published on May 2 by Editions Leduc, the former model says that “a famous French director” allegedly tried to rape her 20 years ago, when she was between 30 and 35 years old. However, she says she "dismissed his name" but denounces "a predator on the loose" on BFM TV.

This Friday, May 3, Adriana Karembeu testified on BFMTV, explaining that she wrote her story “for [her] daughter. Without filter.” She returns in particular to this difficult episode, admitting to “not having” the name of the filmmaker she accuses. “I forgot who he was,” she assures on the set of the 24-hour news channel, but she says that he “already has several films to his credit.” The model and actress says he welcomed her into his home to discuss her script. Subsequently, he allegedly approached her to kiss her “violently”. “I feel his saliva on my face and my chest”

“It was an attempt at something, but it didn't go to hell because I defended myself. I defended myself, because I found it disgusting and I left,” she remembers . “I put this story aside, which I regret today. At the time, I thought he was a poor guy.” She says she believes today that "it was already one gesture too many. This should not happen to anyone."

Adriana Karembeu also recounts having encountered this filmmaker again three weeks after the facts she denounces, in a restaurant, while she was in the company of her ex-husband. "He had the audacity to come and say hello to me with a big smile. I hadn't told my husband at the time. I told myself that he had hurt me and that I protect him again." If she decides to speak today, it is for her daughter and "all other women" who may have been victims of this director.
