The nominations for the World Press Photo of the Year

is An independent, international jury of the six nominees for the World Press Photo of the Year for 2020 will be announced. The winning photos will be on the 16th of april, which was published in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, the netherlands. The winner will be awarded with $ 10,000.

The jury made a selection out of almost 74.000 entries. There are a total of 44 photographers from 24 countries were nominated in ten categories as sports, nature and portrait photography.

Below are the six finalists for the hoofdcompetitie of the World Press Photo Photo of the Year, by the year 2020. Two of the shortlisted photographs in this category will be about the protest.
