France Info was the first to report the information this Thursday afternoon. French international and AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder is under investigation for rape, along with his 25-year-old brother, after two young women complained of forcing them to perform sexual acts. The complaint was filed by the two accusers, aged 19 and 20, earlier this week, public radio said.

The alleged facts would have taken place on July 10, after an evening spent in Beausoleil, a neighboring town of Monaco, in the Alpes-Maritimes. The Nice judicial police have been seized of the investigation. France Info specifies that "the investigations are beginning and no hearing or police custody of the defendants has taken place". Wissam Ben Yedder and his little brother are presumed innocent.

Selected twenty times in the French team, Wissam Ben Yedder is, at 32, one of the best attackers in the French championship. Having played for AS Monaco since 2019, he scored 19 goals last season, making him one of the top 10 scorers in Ligue 1.

Born on August 12, 1990 in Sarcelles, Wissam Ben Yedder developed a passion for the world of football very early on. He spent his childhood in the town of Garges-lès-Gonesse, in Val-d'Oise. At the age of 10, he obtained his football license and played for FCM Garges from 2000 to 2007. Of Tunisian origin, Wissam Ben Yedder was born and raised in the departure of Val-d'Oise, in the Île-de-France region. Fourth child of the siblings, he has five brothers and sisters.
