Singer Jeane Manson urgently hospitalized after heart attack

Singer and former partner of Richard Berry, Jeane Manson was hospitalized on Tuesday May 7 after a heart attack during an appeal hearing in the defamation case between her and her former daughter-in-law, Coline Berry-Rojtan.

Former singer Jeane Manson suffered a "heart attack" on Tuesday May 7 and was hospitalized in Lyon after an appeal hearing in the defamation case currently pitting her against Richard Berry's daughter, reports BFMTV. Aged 73, the singer of Fais moi danser was treated by the firefighters on Tuesday evening for "chest pain" within the grounds of the Court of Appeal. His condition is currently considered "weak" while an intervention is planned for today, indicated the artist's agent.

Former companion of the actor Richard Berry, Jeane Manson had hastily left the courtroom of the Lyon Court of Appeal while her lawyer was preparing to take the floor for his plea in the case against him to Coline Berry-Rojtan. In an article published in Le Monde in February 2021, Coline Berry-Rojtan spoke of sexual violence that she allegedly suffered at her father's home while she was still a minor in 1984 and 1985. She then accused Jeane Manson of having participated at the time in these attacks.

If the incest investigation opened against actor Richard Berry was dismissed on August 31, 2022 due to statute of limitations, Jeane Manson still decided to sue her former daughter-in-law for defamation in court from Aurillac (Cantal) where she lives part of the year. A court decision finally sentenced Coline Berry-Rojtan in April 2022 to a fine of 2,000 euros for defamation, a decision confirmed on appeal by the Riom Court of Appeal (Puy-de-Dôme). A decision subsequently annulled by the Court of Cassation in December 2023, which referred the case to the Lyon Court of Appeal.
