Tania Mendoza (43), is an actress and singer who won fans with her performance in "La reina del sur", a 2003 film. According to El Universal she was shot and killed on Tuesday, December 14.

When she was photographed, the actress was waiting for her 11 year-old son to finish football training. According to reports, the actress was photographed by two motorbike riders in Mexico's Cuernavaca.

Tania had appeared many times on TV including in 'El senor de Sinaloa', 'El precio de tu amor ' and 'Dia de los muertos'.

According to reports, Tania and her husband and son were kidnapped along with their son in 2010. She was then threatened with death, which is believed to have caused her untimely demise.

She was in a car at a car wash when she was kidnapped. They were held captive for a while and threatened before being freed.
