Can't find what you're looking for in DIY stores? How about building a garden shed yourself, whatever shape, size, material... you want? Here is a manual to guide you.

Think about your garden shed by asking yourself what you are going to put in it. This reflection will allow you to determine the size. Then ask yourself the question of its location. It must respect the neighborhood at all costs and not be located near trees. In addition, depending on its size, you will have to file a building permit. You will need to pour a concrete slab. The purpose of the latter is to support the weight of your garden shed so that it rests on the concrete slab. Then move on to the choice of materials. If wood remains expensive, it nevertheless guarantees very good insulation. Metal, on the other hand, is ideal for small wallets and easily withstands the elements.

Start building your garden shed by mounting the four walls. Then take care of the floor, fixing the plates with nails. Your floor must form a perfect rectangle, and its surface must be flat.

Move on to mounting the walls, checking their alignment beforehand. To assemble them, get together, and use nails; this will make it easier to put the panels in place. On top, mount the frame of the roof of your garden shed with panels about ten millimeters thick. Once the panels are in place, add three rows of purlin slats on top. On the rows, install the corrugated iron that will serve as a cover for your garden shed. Mount the windows and the front door. You can also set up gutters to collect rainwater to water your garden, wash your car or for any other domestic work.
