“Hello, please regularize your payment as soon as possible.” Thousands of people have received this kind of message, by SMS or e-mail. In principle, the authorities warn against this type of communication, which is often fraudulent. But for nearly a million people, this is a real alert before the suspension of their subscription with an energy supplier (Engie, Suez, etc.), internet and telephone (Orange, SFR, Bouygues or Free), a various service (Canal, Netflix, Spotify, gym, etc.). Even the taxes could warn you… and your salary or pension will no longer be paid.

Typically, a certain number of these subscriptions are paid each month. When you subscribed to a contract of this type, the company asked you to provide a RIB in order to be charged monthly. Since that day, the flow rate has always been the same, on the same date, and you can benefit from the service without asking any questions. Except that in recent weeks, some users have had the unpleasant surprise of receiving an order to pay their dues as quickly as possible because they could not be collected.

They all have one thing in common: having an account with HSBC. Or at least, CCF. This is the “new” bank which has succeeded the British group since January 1st. After 19 years under the HSBC flag, Crédit commercial de France resumed its name, abandoned in 2005. For customers, automatically switching from HSBC to CCF should have been painless. But everyone will ultimately have to take steps.

The 800,000 people concerned must send their new RIB to all the organizations which collect them each month. Indeed, according to the bank's management, the RIBs published by HSBC are supposed to remain valid until June 30, 2024. However, incidents have already been noted by certain customers, reports Le Figaro, leading to the suspension of direct debits.

All CCF customers must therefore ensure that their new RIB has been taken into account for the payment of their subscriptions because, from July 1, the old RIB will become permanently unusable. If they do not provide their new bank details, these customers risk receiving reminder letters, potentially having to pay late payment interest and, above all, seeing their subscription end.

Furthermore, in order to be certain of receiving the money that you must receive at the beginning or end of the month, your new RIB must be communicated to your employer, your pension fund, France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi) or any other entity that pays you. You should also not forget to make the change with taxes.
