The song also includes parts of a song by George Harrison . Lennon wrote Grow Old with Me while recorded Double Fantasy, his last album, signed, along with his wife Yoko Ono . "Jack asked me if I had ever heard of the Bermuda Tapes, demos of Lennon's from that period," recalls Starr, in an interview with the british newspaper the Guardian, "but I had never heard of... I loved this song. The other nice thing is that I really, really wanted Paul to participate and responded positively. I reached up and played bass and sang a little with me.
