Cutting members of parliament, the Yes of the Commission. On the 7th of October in the classroom

The constitutional Affairs committee of the Chamber approved the constitutional reform for the cutting of the parliamentarians. It was voted on the mandate for the new speaker, Joseph Brescia, who is the president of the commission. The text is expected in the Classroom and on the 7th of October.

The measure, after being approved, the first resolution passed by the Senate in a unified text, and then by the Chamber on the 9th may last, was approved in the second resolution to Palazzo madama: the last free way of Deputies, by an absolute majority, the reform will be the law (not to be asked for a corrective referendum), and so by the next legislature, in the parliament sit less elected.

The number of deputies down from 630 to 400, one of the senators from 315 to 200, in terms of percentage points, to 36.5 percent of the current members of the elected: -230 deputies and -115 senators.

The rules will not be applicable, in case of dissolution of the chambers, before the expiry of sixty days from the entry into force.
The anticipation of this deadline is to allow the adoption of the legislative decree in the matter of the determination of the electoral colleges, in the case in which the current electoral law is correct so it will work regardless of the number of seats assigned by the constitution to the two rooms. The reduction in the number of parliamentarians is reflected, in fact, on the delimitation of the colleges.
